We are thrilled to introduce you to the latest addition to our collection: the concealed button classic dress shirt. To give you insight into this piece, we sat down with our Creative Director, Angelica Colucci, to hear the story behind its creation:
"When building the collection, I always begin with the classics—the timeless staples that every wardrobe needs. Naturally, a white dress shirt is at the top of that list. But then I pondered, how does one make a classic shirt stand out among the sea of others on the market? Different collar shapes? Perhaps. Contrasting colours? Overdone. So I continued to ponder until it hit me—I've never seen a shirt where both the collar and cuff buttons are concealed. After several design iterations, I knew this would become the signature detail of our core COLUCCI dress shirt.
With the design finalised, the next challenge was bringing it to life. Enter our talented bespoke shirt maker. I tasked him with the challenge of concealing all the buttons while ensuring they remained functional. Despite being covered the buttons are made of high-quality mother of pearl—a subtle luxury only the wearer can appreciate. Our tailor embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, resulting in the construction we present to you today—a small yet impactful detail that speaks volumes to those with a discerning eye. It's a little secret, reserved for connoisseurs to relish.
